Prices move more than they look
Over these 30 days, the best price of the median game changed 5 times, and the gap between its highest and lowest point was 27.8% of the high. Only 510 games kept one price for the whole window. A price seen once is a snapshot, not a level.
Best-sellers behave differently
Among the 299 of these games that are in Steam's top 500 sellers, 28.4% are at their 30-day low today, and the median is only 5.6% above it.
The far end of the distribution is mostly the long tail. There, the monthly low is often a marketplace key from a bundle sold for cents until the stock ran out; after that the best price is the official one again. Both prices were real — but such a low may not come back. That last part is our reading of the data, not a measurement.

Method
- 8125 games on sale today with at least 25 days of price history in the last 30;
- the window starts no earlier than 14 September 2026: before that our sources were still being added one by one, and a day's best price could be the only offer we saw;
- daily best price for an EU buyer: the cheapest current offer on that day, any store, standard edition, console keys excluded;
- “at the low” means within 0.5% of the lowest daily price in the window;
- medians rather than averages: a few cent-priced bundle keys would drag an average anywhere.
