Compare CD key prices and find the cheapest Steam key
CritBuy compares CD key prices across official stores and key shops, shows whether each key activates in the EU, and keeps every price change. We don't sell keys: you buy at the store.

How it works
Keys that activate in the EU
Marketplace keys count only when the seller states a region that activates in the EU. Other keys are listed apart, with a warning.
Like for like
Standard, Deluxe and add-ons are compared separately, so a DLC is never shown as the price of the game.
Every price change
Official store prices come from the German storefront, in euros. Each change is kept, so you can see the lowest price we have recorded.
We compare official stores (Fanatical, GOG, Humble Store, Steam) and key shops (GamersGate, Instant Gaming, Keydra, Kinguin). Prices are checked every six hours.
Before you buy
Key regions
Global, EU and region-locked keys: which of them activate on an EU account, and what the shops we track actually state.
Activating a key
Where a code is redeemed on Steam, GOG and the other launchers — and what to do when it is refused.
Key, account or gift
Three different purchases sold under the same word. Only one leaves the game on your account.
Key shops
Official store, reseller or marketplace: who you are buying from, and what changes when something goes wrong.
Questions about game keys
What is a CD key?
A CD key, or game key, is a code you redeem on Steam, GOG, Ubisoft Connect or another platform, and the game appears in your account. Every offer here says which platform the key activates on.
Are key shops safe?
A key shop resells keys, and on a marketplace the seller is another person, not the shop itself. We show the seller's stated region and the platform next to the price, and keys that do not activate in the EU are listed apart, with a warning. The purchase and any refund are between you and that store.
Will the key activate in my country?
Only if the seller states a region that covers the EU. A key sold as Global or EU activates in EU countries; a key sold for another region does not, however good the price looks. Those offers are kept out of the main table.
Why are the prices in euros?
Official store prices are read from the German storefront in euros, so the numbers on one page can be compared with each other. A price we saw in pounds or dollars stays in its own currency: we never convert one.
How often do the prices change?
We check the stores every six hours, and every change is kept. That is why a game page can show the lowest price we have recorded, not only today's.
Does CritBuy sell keys?
No. We compare prices and send you to the store. Some of those links are affiliate links, and the store pays us a commission if you buy — it never changes the order, because offers are sorted by price.
